In Cork, Ireland, Fr Colum Power was born in 1965 on the Feast of the Triumph of the Cross. Called to the priesthood at the age of 31, he consecrated himself in the Servants of the Home of the Mother and was ordained in 2003.
Less than three years later, he was suddenly diagnosed with a form of leukemia that brought him to the brink of death.
